Ranunculus - Ranunculus Asiaticus

Botanical Name: Ranunculus Asiaticus

Family: Ranunculaceae

One Ranunculi corm can produce more than 20 flowers.

To keep blooms coming for a longer period, regularly cut off any dead and dying blooms.

These little bulbs will keep your garden and house in flowers for many weeks.

Watering: Water well after planting; soak weekly until shoots appear, then only to supplement rainfall. Prefer a well-drained soil.

Pest & Disease: bait snails when buds appear. Mildew can be a problem in autumn.

Lifting and Storage: best treated as annual or bi-annuals and new bulbs replanted every 1 to 2 years.

Tip: plant with claws facing downwards. To kick-start the growing process soak the bulbs in a bowl of water for around an hour before planting. To ensure success with outdoor planting, start in trays of seed raising mix. Keep moist in a cool position. Transplant 3-4 weeks after sprouting.

5 cm below the soil.
50 cm above the soil/height.
Plant: Autumn-Winter.
Flower: Spring.
Full Sun.
15 cm apart.
Perfect for pots.

I bought a package containing 45 corms.

I planted them on 7.May and didn't see anything until...

on 23.May.2016 I saw this little shoots...

and I see nothing on the other 2 planters.

And on 10.June.2016 there are more shoots coming out from 1 planter

Cotyledon Orbiculata "Grey Ghost" Succulent

Today, first day of Winter! and I received my 10 cuttings of Grey Ghost.
So excited about them, they are Grey Ghost succulents.
They have a kind of "powder" covering the leaves which give them grey-ish look.

Not sure where to plant them yet. I ordered 10 cuttings and received 12, not complaining!

Might put 1 little cutting on my cute Tortoise Planter {smile}.

2016 New House New Plants...and LOTS of Them! - EDIBLE PLANTS

Edible and Ornamental Plants.

Some of them are gifts from my Sister-In-Law

who also loves succulents.

Because of her, now I love succulents too!

At the backyard we have:

Mint

Left: Galangal. Right: Ginger

Papaya tree

Rosemary

Rhubarb

Chili

Lemongrass

Lemon Myrtle

Native Australian edible plant (bush food)

smells amazing just like lemongrass

Thyme

Mint, Basil, Coriander

Spring Onions, Choy Sums, Celery

Sweet Basil

not sure how to use them,

never even heard of them before,

2016 New House New Plants...and LOTS of Them! - ORNAMENTAL PLANTS

Now this section will be dedicated for ORNAMENTAL Plants.

I have "baby" Hydrangea Arborescens "Annabelle".

They look very "sad" at the moment.
Pretty sure it is because of the soil and weather,
it's almost winter now where all leaves will fall off (soon).

Once bunch still in a pot, hard to remove.

This is where I start my succulent collections.

The leaves are a bit ruffly.

Bought them off GumTree from a private grower.
I knew them from my SIL who happened to sell some of her plants during the weekend.
I haven't got what I bought from my SIL yet, I will have more of these type.

Same as Flapjack, I got them from the same seller.
Also the same story how I know them,
from my SIL (again) {smile}
I will have more once I received the one I bought from my SIL.
